Digital Concept Artist

I've been teaching myself art since 2021. I used to know essentially nothing, but I managed to build up my skills to what they are today. It all began with the Covid-19 pandemic; I didn't know what to do with my life during the quarantine. I was bored, looking for ways to kill time and I thought "Well. Might as well try art."I saw all these indie creators that were able to make a living out of their creative passions. I wanted to be able to do something like that. They have these lovely communities that were so supportive of their ideas; I think I would like to grow one of my own.I became inspired by indie development and small creators finding success by simply enjoying the things they created. Having your own community dedicated to supporting you and your efforts is a great idea and I want to grow off of that in the long run.I primarily like to design characters, tactical gear, armor and various tech. However in the future, I would like to expand more into background set pieces and vehicles as well. My art style is inspired by late 80s-90s anime/manga as well as the tech used of that era, but with a gritty, tactical and dieselpunk technological influence.Inspiration from video games and film:Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade (1999)Wolfenstein: The New Order (2014)Resident Evil 2 (2019)Ghost in the Shell (1995)Some of my other interests are story writing, 2D animation and music. My goal is to not only climb the skill ladder, but also bring back the aesthetic of Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade and the old school anime style in the current era. Outside of the visual "cool" factor of dark armored figures, I think it's important to visualize the complexity of humanity underneath. In my personal project Iron Wolves, I want to explore themes of mental strain, isolation and the consequences of one's actions. The idea is to portray an honest story with raw emotions without holding back on showing things that are not for the faint of heart. While I'm aware that it may not be everybody's cup of tea, that's understandable. It's not supposed to be for everybody. It's more of a niche topic, but regardless that's what I want to do with it.
